I enjoy browsing through dusty shelves and
scattered stalls, and find myself drawn to the
small, hand-painted creatures with chipped ears, faded
colors, and crazing.
These little figurines aren’t just objects; they hold
the gentle echoes of their past owners, perched
on mantels, or gifted in moments of joy.
There’s something achingly beautiful about them.
Once cherished, now forgotten, cast aside as time
marched on. Yet, in their worn features and
delicate forms, they whisper silent tales
of childhood wonder.
I wonder who held them last, and
what stories they silently witnessed.
Now, they sit before me, poised on the
edge of a second life, waiting to be loved again.
