Yesterday was a day off for me, and instead of heading off on
my usual travels, I decided that some time in the
garden with a good book would be the
perfect way to spend my day.
I chose Fairy Tales and Legends
by Rosalind Kerven.
Book in hand, I headed outdoors and got lost between its
fairy-filled pages and otherworldly tales, helped along by
the most beautiful illustrations by Arthur Rackham.
The garden was heavy with the scent of damp earth,
the remnants of last night’s rain still lingering in the air.
I paused to pick some blackberries
(these will make a great crumble)...
...and back indoors just as the sun was setting.
